Last stab at images

One more try for an image generator. I wasn't satisfied with my results earlier.

Here is my link: http://www.cmdr-fire.co.uk/haddock/html

If this works, one gets to see the great Captain Haddock with curses such as "Moth-eaten marmot!" or "Freshwater swabs!".

And for those of you who are wondering, Captain Haddock is not a pirate, but he is sea captain that appears in some European graphic novels for kids. We have a few of there here in CC. And what are they? Merely some of the best works ever for kids! The author's name is Herge. Check the catalog and check out one of these!

Well THAT'S disappointing!

I tried to make a cute picture with Image Chef which turned out to be a big nothing. Literally. A blank page. Better luck next time, this site is going down for maintenance.

Technorati

Marginally interesting. 'Nuf said.

Delicious

Pretty interesting way to take your bookmarked sites with you wherever there is access to the 'Net. One could create several lists, I suppose, for professional sites or other interests. That way, the various sites can be found easily without any futile searching fueled by faulty memory.

roll your own (ha, ha)

Cute title, "roll your own". Anyway, I worked on Rollyo but really don't plan to use it at work. Or, I could be mistaken, maybe it will come in handy. I can use it at home, but the "Favorites" option works just as well.

my library site

This could be so convenient. I have a friend who is a confirmed bibliophile and has an extensive personal library. Betcha this site will come in handy! Meanwhile, here is my puny little start. Only 1,995 to go (no, really--I mean it).

Blackadder: They do say, Mrs M, that verbal insults hurt more than physical pain. They are, of course, wrong, as you will soon discover when I stick this toasting fork into your head.

RSS feeds

Wow! Something incredibly useful!!

Who knew? Well, I guess that is the point, isn't it? To learn something new, that is. I expect the RSS feeds will be one of my favorite discoveries. Of course I haven't got to the Wiki part yet, but still, I like the news feeds a lot. This could make me even more of a news junkie.

Thanks

Thanks for looking at my brother's pictures!

Technology

One of the most convenient and interesting technologies available is the good old DVD. One can watch a DVD on either TV or on your computer. OK, it's not a big deal to most people, but it sure is convenient.

And some social networking sites have a bad rep, but my daughter finds it convenient for keeping in touch with her high school classmates.

There's that word again: convenient. Since I am not born to be a geek, I harbor the quaint notion that technology is supposed to be a convenience that makes other parts of our life easier. I do not normally see technology as an end in itself.
